Baby Book

I thought I would explain why I sometimes put info on the blog that might not seem too important or interesting to all...okay, I have to admit, I have never really worked in either of Treigh or Birkley's baby books. Treigh's is started because before kids I didn't have anything else to do and Birkley's is still in the box with the pretty ribbon adorning diagonal corners. I decided when Treigh was about a year old that I would get a binder and simply print off each post as I did it, punch holes, and add it in. This is a much easier way than writing every cute little thing in the baby book and it also includes all of the important milestones, holidays, etc. Don't get me wrong, I have a stack of post-it notes with little notes of firsts like which tooth Treigh got first etc., but, this way I am not doing the same thing twice...and poor Birkley, I should at least write her name in her book.

Anyway, I have a couple of "baby book" items to insert, so read on if you choose...

Birkley: I took Birkley to the dr last Monday because she had been congested since her 2 week check-up. The dr said that since she didn't have a fever then she might have a milk allergy causing the congestion ( I am skeptical). So we switched to Infamil Lacto-free this past week. I know that it had only been a week, but there is no change in her "snot" and it is a very thin consistency and she eats more often then she did before...not sure it is as filling. So, if there is still no change by this week's end, I guess we try something else????

Treigh: I took Treigh to Marianne's (daycare/sitter) on Thursday because I had a dr's appointment and two annual case conferences for my special education students that I feel the need to attend. As we were reviewing the day's exciting happenings to my mom that evening Treigh told her that they took a walk to Marianne's house, saw Brenna's bunnies from the Easter Bunny, and caught frogs from the fish pond. In response my mom acts very excited as well and repeated to Treigh, "you caught frogs from the fish pond." Treigh's response was, very matter-of-factly, "yes, several." I said, "what did you say?" He then repeated, "several, I caught several mommy,...with a net too!" I may sound like one of those moms...but I thought that using the word several at age 2 was baby-book worthy!

This and That...

We had a fairly busy weekend this past...Rich had a double header on Saturday with gorgeous weather I might add. Birkley attended her first prom...or rather grand march I should say. We went to watch Kieran (Ky and Killian's aunt) and Zack at the grand march for the prom on Sat evening while the boys went to the golf course. Sunday we made a trip to Sam's to stock up on stuff and in the afternoon the cousins from Linton visited.

Hello mommy!

After many hours on the internet searching for toddler, pin-striped baseball pants, I finally hit the jackpot. Treigh's loves wearing his "uniforms" to Rich's games, and Rich's boys think he is absolutely "IT" as does he of them or "the guys." He also thinks he has to wear his "pleats" as normal shoes everywhere we go!

First Dentist Trip

Treigh visited the dentist for the first time this week. He was very good...opened his mouth wide, let the Dr. Garver count his teeth, etc. He asks every morning if we are going back...along with where is daddy, and can I go to baseball practice.

I took Treigh in for his 2 year check-up...all is well...35 pounds and 35 inches tall.

Stats

I took Birkley for her 2 week well-baby check-up yesterday...she is doing well!
She weighed in at 11 lbs, and 1 oz. She is still 21.5 long. Needless to say, she doesn't miss a bottle...lol...she is eating 4 oz every 3 hours!

Keepies

When Treigh was a baby he fought sleep horribly for naps. I got this little blanket and it helped soothe him throughout the daytime siestas. He obviously latched onto it, but only wants it when he goes to sleep. When he had just started talking he started calling it his "keepie." Not sure where he got it, but I think it was his attempt at "blankie." Way back before I even thought about getting pregnant with Birkley, I saw the pink version and had to buy it just in case. She now fights naps too and is starting to like hers too. I just wonder what she will call hers...because Treigh's is still his "keepie."

Rich's spring break was last week, but he had practicce a couple of days. Here is a picture of Treigh going to his first baseball practice with daddy. He continually asks to go to "westernboone"...all one word! Needless to say, he loved it.

Think Spring

ok, I know, what 2 year old needs this many ride-on toys. The sad thing is, he has a scooter and another toy that did not get photographed.

Treigh is absolutely loving the spring weather...with the exception of today. We can't get him inside without a fight...seriously!
